Who, what, and where?

Sable BooKnight is a dynamic independent book publishing company based in Canada, and it was developed by Tania Stephanson. Sable’s primary objective is to offer self-publishing assistance to independent authors. As a newcomer to the publishing community, Sable is taking baby steps with a few authors who publish under the Sable BooKnight brand. However, Sable may expand this unique group by adding more talented authors, while also providing paid services and building connections within the publishing community.

What is in the name?

Nestled on an island in Canada, a herd of horses roams free, known famously as "The Sable Island Horses." Visitors can book air or sea trips to this protected island, with approval from Parks Canada, to witness the majestic herd in their natural habitat. Sable BooKnight chose to name itself after these horses for several reasons. First, as a tribute to their beauty and resilience. Second, because horses embody the ideals of  freedom and confidence, which are common traits for independent authors. Lastly, the founder's love of horses serves as a fitting symbol to represent Sable.

The "Knight" in Sable BooKnight represents the company's commitment to safeguarding the interests of its authors, much like knights in tales of fantasy, who protect citizens and their royal leaders. One of Sable's authors is a high fantasy writer, and Sable hopes to add more fantasy authors to the roster in the future. With Sable's support, these writers can unleash their creativity and imagination, confident in the Sable BooKnight name.

Creator of Sable BooKnight

Tania Stephanson is a multi-talented writer who has published a diverse range of works across several genres. Her portfolio includes gripping crime thrillers, non-fiction stories, and thought-provoking poetry collections, as well as a booklet on budgeting. In addition, she has written a moving true story about her medical journey called "Living Undiagnosed".

Her short story "Red River Man" earned her second place in the Lake Winnipeg Writer's Group contest, which was published in their anthology, Voices.
